Odessa massacre: Nine years on
On May 2, 2014, 46 people were burned alive inside of the House of Trade Unions in the city of Odessa, a massacre that was largely ignored in the West. The victims of the tragedy had been openly protesting against the government in Kiev that rose to power after the US-backed coup.
